Freight transport Sweden
We organise freight transport between Romania and Sweden, by full truckload, groupage and refrigerated truck, to the south of the country, the Gothenburg area and the Stockholm region. We choose the route through Denmark or by ferry from Germany or Poland, depending on the destination.
Freight transport Romania – Sweden, in both directions
From Romania to Sweden go furniture, wood products, industrial and car components, textiles and food. From Sweden come equipment, industrial parts and components, paper and packaging, steel and metal products.
For freight transport to Sweden we organise:
- Full truckload (FTL): a 13.6 m semi-trailer just for your goods, directly from loading to unloading;
- Pallet groupage (LTL): for a few pallets or a partial load, priced per loading metre;
- Express van: for urgent parts and samples, with one or two drivers;
- Refrigerated transport: for food and temperature-sensitive goods, with ATP vehicles;
- ADR transport and oversize transport: with the documents and permits required in Sweden and in the transit countries.

The route to Sweden
To southern Sweden, trucks go through Germany and Denmark and cross the Øresund Bridge to Malmö, or take the ferry on the Rostock–Trelleborg route. For Stockholm and the east of the country, the ferry from Poland, on the Świnoujście–Ystad route, may be shorter. We choose the option according to the delivery address and the ferry timetables.
Road tolls and traffic restrictions
Besides the tolls in the transit countries, the Øresund Bridge and the ferries have separate fares, which we include in the quote. In Stockholm and Gothenburg there are congestion charges for entering the city at certain times, which we take into account when scheduling delivery.
Documents for freight transport to Sweden
As it is a member of the European Union, goods move to Sweden without customs formalities. For the transport you need an invoice or delivery note, the CMR consignment note, completed at loading and signed by the consignee at delivery, and the UIT code from RO e-Transport, if the shipment leaves Romania and exceeds the thresholds.
Special goods need additional documents: the safety data sheet and ADR documents for dangerous goods, the vehicle's ATP certificate for perishable food, or the special permits for oversize loads, issued in each country along the route.
Transport from Sweden to Romania
From Sweden we bring to Romania industrial equipment and components, paper products, packaging and metal products. For the return leg we book the ferry space in advance, so that we do not lose a day in port.

Frequently asked questions
Can't find your answer? Write to us at contact@transport-marfa.com or call +40 731 095 863.
Does the truck go by ferry to Sweden?
It depends on the destination. To Malmö and western Sweden the Øresund Bridge can be used, and to Stockholm or the east of the country the ferry from Germany or Poland is often faster. The cost of the ferry is included in the quote.
How long does freight transport Romania–Sweden take?
With one driver, usually 3–4 days to southern Sweden and 4–5 days to Stockholm, plus the time on the ferry. With two drivers, the transit time is 1–2 days shorter.
How much does freight transport to Sweden cost?
The price depends on the distance, the road tolls in the countries along the route, the type of vehicle, how fast the goods must arrive and how many trucks are available on that route. Send us the addresses, the date, and the type and weight of the goods and you will get the price within 30 minutes during opening hours.
Do you also offer pallet groupage to Sweden?
Yes. For a few pallets or a partial load to Sweden we use international groupage: you pay only for the space you use, per loading metre or per pallet, and the transit time is 1–3 days longer than for a full truckload.
What documents do I need for a shipment to Sweden?
As this is an EU country, no customs formalities are needed for Sweden: the invoice, the CMR consignment note and the UIT code from RO e-Transport are enough, if the shipment leaves Romania and exceeds the thresholds. Dangerous, perishable or oversize goods need additional documents.
Do you also transport goods from Sweden to Romania?
Yes. We run trips in both directions, loading anywhere in Sweden and delivering anywhere in Romania.
