We organise freight transport between Romania and Greece, through Bulgaria, to Thessaloniki, Larissa, Athens and the port of Piraeus, in both directions. On the return leg, Greece is an important source of fruit, vegetables and food products.

For freight transport to Greece we organise:

CityDistance from BucharestTypical transit time

The route to Greece

Trucks cross the Danube at Giurgiu–Ruse or Calafat–Vidin, cross Bulgaria towards Sofia and enter Greece at Kulata–Promachonas, then continue on the motorway to Thessaloniki. To Athens, trucks continue on the A1 motorway, past Larissa.

Road tolls and traffic restrictions

Greek motorways charge a toll, paid at the toll barriers along the route, and in Bulgaria the electronic road toll is paid. In summer, tourist traffic in northern Greece can add time to the trip, so we plan the border crossing time.

Documents for freight transport to Greece

As it is a member of the European Union, goods move to Greece without customs formalities. For the transport you need an invoice or delivery note, the CMR consignment note, completed at loading and signed by the consignee at delivery, and the UIT code from RO e-Transport, if the shipment leaves Romania and exceeds the thresholds.

Special goods need additional documents: the safety data sheet and ADR documents for dangerous goods, the vehicle's ATP certificate for perishable food, or the special permits for oversize loads, issued in each country along the route.

Transport from Greece to Romania

From Greece we bring to Romania fruit and vegetables in refrigerated trucks, olive oil, dairy products, building materials and imported goods collected from the port of Piraeus or from Thessaloniki.

Yes. We organise refrigerated trucks with the temperature set for each product, with loading in the production areas of northern and central Greece.

Do you collect goods from the port of Piraeus or Thessaloniki?

Yes, we can collect goods and containers from the ports of Piraeus and Thessaloniki, if the goods are cleared or travel under transit.

How long does freight transport from Romania to Greece take?

With one driver, the typical transit time is 1–2 days to Thessaloniki, 2–3 days to Athens, counted from Bucharest, and 1–2 days with two drivers. The exact time depends on the loading and delivery cities, on the departure day and on the weekend restrictions along the route.

How much does freight transport to Greece cost?

The price depends on the distance, the road tolls in the countries along the route, the type of vehicle, how fast the goods must arrive and how many trucks are available on that route. Send us the addresses, the date, and the type and weight of the goods and you will get the price within 30 minutes during opening hours.

Do you also offer pallet groupage to Greece?

Yes. For a few pallets or a partial load to Greece we use international groupage: you pay only for the space you use, per loading metre or per pallet, and the transit time is 1–3 days longer than for a full truckload.

What documents do I need for a shipment to Greece?

As this is an EU country, no customs formalities are needed for Greece: the invoice, the CMR consignment note and the UIT code from RO e-Transport are enough, if the shipment leaves Romania and exceeds the thresholds. Dangerous, perishable or oversize goods need additional documents.

Yes. We run trips in both directions, loading anywhere in Greece and delivering anywhere in Romania.
